
Nervous Sweating
Sweating on the hands, feet and underarms is a common and mostly embarrassing experience that is usually caused by stress and anxiety. Quite often the two go hand in hand, in this heightened emotional state the embarrassment of sweating leads to increased levels of anxiety. During periods of stress and anxiety, our core body temperature increases due to the hormones adrenaline and among others being released into our body. This increase in body temperature causes our subconscious mind to create sweat in an attempt to cool down.
This natural reaction of the mind and body causes us to feel self conscious and embarrassed by the sweat marks under our arms and our clammy hands. This self consciousness then leads to feeling of judgment and us focusing on the sweating, effectively creating more stress and anxiety.
