Feelings of being Intimidated are closely linked to lack of confidence and low self-esteem, all of which are learned behaviours. These behaviours or more accurately ways of looking at ourselves were instilled in us as children. Well meaning parents, teachers, grand parents and even friends all have an impact on how we learn to perceive ourselves, and our place in the world. What once was viewed as discipline and a good spank on the bottom can very well be viewed by a child as “I can’t stand up for myself”. Which is stored and remembered by our unconscious mind and we subsequently think and behave in accordance with this, not knowing any better, only knowing something isn’t quite right.
