Butterflies in the Stomach
Butterflies in the stomach is one of the common experiences felt when our fight or flight response is triggered. Adrenaline is released into our body causing this fluttering, flicking and often sickening feeling.
The fight or flight response is a safety response designed to keep us safe in times of potential physical harm being inflicted on us. However as we have evolved, the actual times when we find ourselves in these situations is quite minimal and rare. However there is another threat on our safety, and that is the one conjured up by our very own mind, and is what we commonly refer to as stress and worry.
This danger is far greater than a physical threat, because a physical threat we can run away from or defend ourselves against, however we can’t run or defend ourselves from something we can’t see. And worse still it is inside our very own head.
How can we Help?
Here at the Social Anxiety Clinic we have specific techniques and tools to help you regain control and defend yourself against this invisible threat.
Using the tools of Hypnosis, NLP and Belief Change Techniques we can help you take those old threats, fears and concerns and train your brain to look at them in a new empowering way.
